That Old House

by Mark McCafferty

/

about

We all have memories of childhood and our childhood home......

lyrics

Ride down this avenue
A road lined with trees
Past memories, soaked in their leaves
To the days, just my sisters and me

Number 36, an old iron gate
Swing it open, the noise it would make
Each step to the front door, a memory made

That old house, stil lives in our dreams
That old house is still part of me
And you, too

Rooms filled with laughter
Rooms filled with love
Abandoned in time, to search for tomorrow
When you close that door
One last time

Now the view from the window changes through time
But not the sound of the wind through the leaves
Of that old tree of mine
It's just fine

Last time I drove this road
I was on my bike
Heading home for the night
To the safest place, i'd ever known
